01 How to Earn Money

One question which I am regularly asked by my students is “What is the way to earn money?”, “How can we earn money?” and similar questions which ask the same thing.

How to earn money?

This indeed is a question one must face in life. The sooner once faces it, the better. How am I going to earn money?

Well I think money is earned by “selling” something. Before you just get bugged with the word “selling”, I would like to clarify that it doesn’t always mean having a “product” in your hand and going door to door asking people to “buy” it so that you earn money. People look at the word “selling” with almost an allergic reaction, with disdain, contempt and utter distaste. And that’s what is truly unfortunate.

Why should anyone give you money? Or if we take the question from the other end, “Why and when do YOU pay someone money?” – only when the other person either performs a service you needed like in the case of a domestic help, or when somebody gave you a product you needed like newspaper, or a bottle of mineral water, or a pair of shoes. So you pay only when you got something you needed in return. Now what do YOU have as a money making aspirant, to give to other people which would be as valuable to other people that they would be willing to pay for it?

This is really a tough question. What do YOU have to give?

The STEP 1 to earn money is to research and be clear of What is that what you have which other people would want and will be willing to pay for the same.

It might take some intense hours of thought and might take even days, weeks and probably months to zero in on what you have to give. It can either be some service you can perform or in the form of a tangible product you can make.
